Our dear friend, colleague, and mentor, Jim Manske, passed away on December 22 after suffering complications from a recent surgery. He was surrounded by his loving family (Jori, Jiva, Jaya, Hannah, and Nora) and a dear friend.

We’re reaching out to let you know that the 2025 Open-Hearted Practice Group that was scheduled to start on January 20th has been canceled. Anyone who donated will be refunded.

We are deeply sad if this news is especially disappointing to you, and our decision didn’t come easily because we were considering and caring for so many people. In the end, it is clear to us that the original idea for the practice group and most of its development and inspiration came from Jim. It is impossible for us to imagine continuing the practice group without him.  

We will be adding a course for beginners and intermediate NVC enthusiasts to help fill the gap that ending the practice group may leave for you. We hope that this may bring some measure of relief to you. 

Jim has contributed so much to so many of our lives, and words cannot express how much we will miss him. We imagine that you may be missing him as well, so we’d like to extend an invitation to a remembrance event on February 2nd that will take place during the NVC Conference.

This remembrance will be led by Jori Manske and his dear friend and fellow trainer, River Dunavin. Those attending will be given an opportunity to share their memories of Jim, and together we will celebrate and honor all the ways he’s contributed to our lives.

This event will take place during one session of the NVC Conference, which Jim and Jori have participated in since its inception many years ago. This one session to honor Jim will be free to the public and NVC Conference registrants.
